Terraria has been drawing in players since its release in 2011, thanks to its affordable price, an addictive combination of crafting and combat, and a series of well-received patches that added tons of content to the game for free. Those patches started becoming less and less frequent early in 2012, though, as the various creators split off to do their own things due to new families and new ideas for game creation.
